Outstanding lows and highs from this set. It put my Infinity 6830cs rears to shame. Hard to imagine this is a 5 1/4 woofer. Bass was strong enough to rattle doors. I wish I had installed these in the back deck. BTW - Picture in 1/1/11 Amazon page is not MMs but are db's. I was very excited to upgrade my factory replacement 6x8 MB Quarts with a real pair of components for my fronts and when I opened the package the first thing i noticed was such a small magnet assembly and the overall weight of the woofer, no problem fitting them in ANY doors (the tweeters were a harder fit due to size) After spending half the day rewiring my car with 14ga and making adapter plates, it was time to connect these to my 4 channel amp (50 x 4) and give them a listen and I was VERY disappointed in the sound quality even after readjusting my gains and trying to eq in some sound. I listen to everything from jazz to rock to rap and none seemed to make these shine, my quarts sounded... They are almost too sensitive for my purposes. They COMPLETELY drown out a set of dynaudio 6.5 woofers that I'm running for midbass in the doors. At the same gain there is no comparing the two for output. While accurate and clear it took a bit of eq work to get them perfect. No biggie. I've yet to hear them distort, though I do have the gain set conservatively for the massive headroom in the amp driving them.I think these guys, perhaps the whole Polk MM product line, are unique in their sensitivity and resistance. Especially considering their clarity and price. These may be the answer to vehicles with OEM systems that resist relatively inexpensive aftermarket equipment integration.
