| 7 of 8 people found the following review helpful  My Pyle Overhead DVD Player., By This review is from: PYLE PLRD143IF 14.1-Inch Roof Mount TFT-LCD Monitor with Built in DVD Player (Electronics) No doubt this is a nice, clear and a wide screen dvd player that my daughter enjoys a lot, however, you need an rf modulator installed with it which if you dont have installed along with the dvd would cost you about another $100 to have it put in at best buy.Another thing to consider when buying this unit, is the size of your car 'cos it can really consume a lot of your ceiling space and you tend to hit your head when getting in the car if you still have it flipped down. I have it installed at best buy for approximately $200. Also my remote control for this unit do either not work or simply do not have batteries in them which I can't seem to open the back of it to check. At first, this unit worked and looked great. However, I ended up purchasing this from Amazon twice.The first one started with a fuzzy picture (snow) after 2 weeks of use. Fortunately, it was within Amazon's return period. I figured it was a fluke and exchanged it through Amazon for a new one. The second one randomly started skipping through all of our movies and the control adjustment to the audio does not work. Unfortunately, it was not within Amazon's return period and I am now stuck with a faulty piece of junk. Save yourself time, aggrevation, and money and do not buy. It would be a great unit if the quality was there, but this is a completely unreliable piece of junk. Do not buy - you have been warned. |
